Apple's Next Big Leap. What to Expect from the iPhone 16 and Beyond

Apple finally sets September 9th as the date for a conference to unveil its new devices. The company excited its fans with the phrase “Glowtime” with the Apple logo in glowing colors and style compatible with Siri’s colors.

If you have been following Apple’s recent news and what it revealed in iOS 18, you will know that all of this is revelations and excitement about the features of artificial intelligence. Which the new iPhones will bring.

That's not all. Over the past few months, we have come to know almost everything about the iPhone 16 family. This report serves as a full spoiler of what the new lineup will offer. The lineup will consist of the same models as last year: the regular version, the Plus version, the Pro, and the Pro Max.

The four phones will not see major design changes, except for the camera module in the regular iPhone 16 and the Plus version. The camera module will become vertical instead of the square module with two diagonal lenses.

The reason is due to the availability of a feature on the phone to record videos in a format compatible with Vision Pro on Apple. These features were limited only to Pro users, but now they will be generalized to all individuals.
  • There are no other changes at the level of design and manufacturing. The Pro will maintain the steel titanium frame, while the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will have an aluminum frame.
  • In the front is the dynamic island with thin frames. Some headlines suggest that the Pro Max will arrive with the thinnest frames found in a smartphone.
To the left of the devices is the Tasks button previously found in the iPhone 15 Pro. This time it will be present in the four phones, and the user will be able to customize it to perform many tasks in a short manner, such as silent mode, opening the alarm, starting the timer, or many other options.

On the right, next to the power button, Apple will add a new button for sound capture, which will be similar to the main button on old iPhones, meaning it will recognize the intensity and method of pressing, and will allow you greater control over the camera application, such as zooming in and back by swiping up and down, long pressing, or even switching between video and photo mode.

Specifications of the upcoming iPhone 16

Speaking of specifications, we will start talking about the regular plus version. The size remains the same: 6.1 inches for the iPhone 16 and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 16 Plus, of the Super Retina type, with the same resolution and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz maximum.

The screen size of the Pro versions has been slightly enlarged. The 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch screen, and the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch screen. Some leaks suggest that Apple will use Micro Lens technology in the screen to increase brightness and conserve energy at the same time by integrating billions of lenses into the panel to reduce internal reflections, resulting in an improvement in content display and clarity.

In terms of hardware, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus include the new A18 processor, which is rumored to be attached to the graphics processor from last year, while the Pro versions will include the more powerful A18 Pro and a new and advanced graphics processor.

Apple has worked on developing a neural engine to provide higher performance with machine learning and artificial intelligence. The user will receive a new Siri system capable of performing tasks within applications only with a voice request and integrating GPT chat into the system.

There is also the feature of designing and generating images by describing what you want or deleting unwanted elements from the images. Most of these features will also be available in the new update of the iPhone 15 Pro. We will see the four phones move to an 8GB RAM version instead of the 6GB found in the iPhone 15.

Enhanced Cooling. The New System in iPhone 16 and 16 Plus

Apple will renew the cooling system in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus phones, which will include a layer of graphics, while the Pro version will protect the battery with a metal layer to disperse the temperature and maintain the good performance of the device. We won't see any drastic changes to the main camera of the iPhone 16, which will continue with a 1.6 aperture.

However, the Ultra Wide camera will be improved with a 2.2 aperture instead of the 2.4 in the previous generation, resulting in higher-resolution photos, especially in low-light conditions. We may also find a macro mode in the Ultra Wide lenses to take pictures of small items from close distances.

On the other hand, the Pro phones will come with a new Ultra Wide lens with a resolution of 48 megapixels, which will noticeably raise the quality of photography. One of the expected and important improvements this year is the battery.

Apple will use a new technology, the same as that found in batteries for electronic cars and medical devices. The goal is longer battery life and greater capacity without taking up much space in the body.

Here's a comparison of the battery capacities of the iPhone 15 models and the expected capacities of the batteries in the iPhone 16 models:
  1. For the global version, the iPhone 15 has a battery capacity of 3,349 mAh, while the iPhone 16 is expected to have a capacity of 3,561 mAh.
  2. The iPhone 15 Plus has a battery capacity of 4,383 mAh, whereas the iPhone 16 Plus is expected to have a capacity of 4,006 mAh.
  3. The iPhone 15 Pro has a battery capacity of 3,274 mAh, while the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a capacity of 3,355 mAh.
  4. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a battery capacity of 4,422 mAh, whereas the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a capacity of 4,676 mAh.
Regarding the charging speed, the confirmed information is still unclear. Some leaks indicate the arrival of Pro versions with a capacity of 40 watts of wired charging and support for 20 watts of wireless charging. Other sources confirm that Apple will maintain a charging capacity of 27W for wired charging and 15W for wireless charging.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be available in green, blue, black, pink, and white. Recently, pictures of the iPhone 16 Pro Max appeared in a new color called Desert Titanium. There is not much left until these phones are officially released to the public.

Exploring the Latest Innovations in Foldable Phones

Companies have started working on an innovative prototype phone that is said to shape the future of smartphones and tablets. As usual, Chinese companies are leading the charge in taking risks to experiment Let's explore this.

Foldable phones are making their way into the consumer markets with difficulty and face challenges of use, flexibility, and consumer habits that are difficult to change. Their high cost and difficulty of maintenance constitute an additional challenge to their spread.

It is not easy to convince the consumer to abandon his comfort zone and drag him into a different world, but companies, led by Samsung, do not give up, even if some other companies seem to give up in the face of this type of phone.

In the world of innovation, Chinese companies always take risks before others. This is because the margin of loss if the idea fails is less than others, such as Apple and Samsung, which charge consumers to degrees that put them in an embarrassing position.

The innovative idea that companies are working on secretly and publicly is more daring and is considered a leap forward without considering the risks: the idea of a foldable phone, but this time it has three folds, not a single fold, and Oppo presented a phone carrying this idea.

The Product Manager of Oppo's Find series shared an image of a triple-fold Oppo device featuring two separate elements and a nearly bezel-less main screen with a synthetic leather back. The device seems to be operating on a customized version of Oppo's ColorOS, complete with large widgets and a taskbar.

Folding the phone three times what does it mean?

It means a larger screen and it becomes closer to a tablet, so folding it more than once gives the company space to enlarge the size of the screen, and this will in turn affect the other components of the device because a larger screen means a need for a larger battery and a different design.

This idea was announced by Oppo after previous reports revealed that it and Vivo had decided to withdraw from the foldable smartphone market, and here someone commented sarcastically saying upon seeing this idea, let us try and fail again.

But Oppo again denied these reports and confirmed its continuation in the foldable phone market. The idea is still a dead letter that has not been translated into reality and has not entered manufacturing. But let us remember that everything began as an idea. Will the idea turn into reality or just forgotten designs in a desk drawer?

Xiaomi Develops the Second Generation of Its Proprietary Operating System

Xiaomi is working on the second generation of its operating system, HyperOS, and a website specializing in news and updates for Xiaomi devices revealed that the system will be released on the tenth of next October, and a leaked image stated that the Redmi K70 Ultra phone will be the first to receive the update.

It is expected that the update will be released with the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro phones as soon as they are announced on the same day. Xiaomi has relied on the Android 15 kernel in its system, and the update will come with an improvement in the communication experience and its application.

  • Xiaomi hinted that the system is strongly integrated with artificial intelligence. It is expected that the system will gain artificial intelligence features in photo and video editing and voice tone recognition.
  • The system has a new user interface with smoother animations than the previous generation, improved notification management, and additional customization options for the main screen.
Multiple notifications from one source will be stacked in one notification so as not to cause any unnecessary clutter in the user interface. HyperOS is set to introduce the next generation of HyperOS Game Turbo, featuring new enhancements for an improved gaming experience.

We also expect Xiaomi to add the HyperMind 2 feature to raise the level of the system to ensure a balance between performance and battery life. Turning it on will ensure that you get sufficient performance without consuming a lot of battery. It is a feature that works with artificial intelligence and will be able to manage matters control the operation of the system and run in the background according to the option he chooses user.
  • This time, Xiaomi will offer more customization options in the Always-On Display, allowing users to modify it as they wish.
  • But there is an important feature expected with the update: Xiaomi will offer a larger virtual random access memory of up to 16 GB, while the default will be 6 GB.
  • Increasing the virtual random access memory means more space for active applications and thus better multitasking.
It is a trick used by companies to increase phone performance and increase RAM capacity, but it is unlikely that all Xiaomi devices will get these features due to storage and hardware limitations, so it is only available for high-end phones and selected mid-range phones.
