Xiaomi 15 Pro Does It Deserve the Giant Title Discover Its Top Specs and Features

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is officially the company’s most powerful phone and the first device to launch with the formidable Qualcomm processor. What new features does it bring, and will it dominate all phones in 2024 to take the throne among flagship devices? Here’s everything you need to know about the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s specifications.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro retains a design similar to the previous generation, the 14 Pro, with a few minor but important upgrades that enhance its aesthetics. The most notable change is the significantly thinner screen bezels, allowing for more screen space and offering an improved viewing experience comparable to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Additionally, it maintains a central punch-hole camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

  • The new upgrade is the replacement of the optical sensor with a faster and more accurate ultrasonic sensor. The screen design can be described as flat, but the slim bezels are slightly curved along the edges, making the phone more comfortable to hold and giving it a more modern look.
  • At the back, there's a glossy finish in youthful colors including olive green, white, gray, and a new shade called "Rock Gray," a blend of white and gray with a wave-like effect that’s visually appealing.
  • The camera module remains square and protrudes slightly from the back, but the bump features curved edges to align with the phone’s overall design language.
  • On the right side are the power button and volume controls, while the bottom houses the USB-C charging port, speaker, microphone, and SIM card slot.

The phone’s dimensions are well-balanced, with a thickness ranging from 8.4 to 8.7 mm depending on the color choice, and it weighs either 213 or 219 grams. Notably, the device is lighter than the previous generation, making daily use more comfortable. As a flagship phone, it naturally supports stereo sound and is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance.

Key Features of the Xiaomi 15 Pro That Set It Apart

Moving on to the specifications, the phone’s display remains the same as last year’s model in terms of type, refresh rate, size, and resolution. It features a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate that automatically adjusts from 1 to 120 Hz depending on the task to conserve battery life.

  • Additionally, the display offers a top-tier viewing experience, capable of displaying 68 billion colors with depth and realism, resulting in more vibrant color saturation.
  • The only screen upgrade this year is brightness, which has been increased to a maximum of 3200 Nits with HDR10+ content. Xiaomi has also reinforced the display with a new scratch-resistant protective layer.
  • Exclusively, the Xiaomi 15 series debuts with the second generation of the HyperOS interface, based on Android 15. This new interface offers greater freedom for customizing the home screen and lock screen, along with AI features that are useful for users.

In terms of hardware, the device is equipped with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, featuring eight cores built on a 3-nanometer architecture and a high clock speed of 4.32 GHz, accompanied by an Adreno 830 GPU. There’s no need to elaborate on the high performance and efficiency users will experience, as this is expected from such a processor.

  • We’ll wait for the device to arrive in the Arab region to compare it with the previous generation and other flagship phones released this year, such as the S24 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
  • The phone comes with RAM options of either 12GB paired with 256GB of storage or 16GB paired with 512GB or 1TB of storage.

Unmatched Features of the Xiaomi 15 Pro

Moving to the cameras, Xiaomi continues its collaboration with Leica, the renowned lens developer, to bring us the same lenses as last year but with a more intelligent image processing system and more advanced technology. The main lens retains the OmniVision Light Fusion 900 sensor, with a resolution of 50MP, an f/1.4 aperture, and a 23mm focal length, supporting optical image stabilization.

  • The second lens is an ultra-wide lens with the same resolution and an f/2.2 aperture, supporting autofocus. The third lens is telephoto, also with the same resolution, an f/2.5 aperture, and supports 5x optical zoom.
  • On the back, there is a laser sensor for more precise and efficient focus. The main camera supports 8K video recording at 24 or 30 frames per second, while the front features a 32MP selfie camera.
  •  This year, the battery capacity has jumped to 6100mAh, a large size that can last up to two days with regular use, especially with the smart power management of the new chipset.

The device supports 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 15 Pro was first released in China with configurations of 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM with either 512GB or 1TB storage. It has yet to be made available in Arab markets.
