The Redmi 14 Note Pro and Pro Plus series are considered smartphones that combine powerful performance and sleek design, making them an ideal choice for users looking for a premium experience at an affordable price.

This series features a high-resolution AMOLED display that provides vibrant colors and precise details, as well as an advanced camera system that allows users to capture stunning photos in various conditions.

  • The phones also rely on the powerful Snapdragon processor, ensuring smooth performance and a seamless user experience.
  • Whether you're a fan of gaming, photography, or even daily use, the Redmi 14 Note Pro and Pro Plus are worth considering.
  • The most famous series from the Redmi brand is back again! Let’s welcome the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro Plus siblings.

Every year, we are amazed by the brand’s ability to incorporate features and specifications that are incredibly difficult to find in this category. Will the Redmi Note 14 family continue on the same path? Let’s find out in this article about the specifications and features of these two phones.

Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro Plus. Full Specifications and Detailed Comparison

The Redmi Note 14 Pro siblings this year feature significant changes in terms of design and build quality. We notice curves throughout the body, with a glossy back texture and youthful color options made from Gorilla Glass 7. Xiaomi has focused on durability for the Redmi Note 14 family, reinforcing both the front and back with break-resistant glass and covering the corners with internal layers of polymer and rubber.

Camera

The camera window is circular and prominently raised, with rounded corners and curves at the edges. This design continues on the front, where we find a curved-edge screen that maximizes space, with a camera hole in the center and an optical fingerprint sensor beneath the screen.

On the right, there is the power button and the volume buttons. At the bottom, you'll find a USB Type-C charging port, speaker, microphone, and SIM card tray. On the top, there is a second stereo speaker, another microphone, and an infrared sensor for controlling smart devices remotely.

  • Xiaomi deserves credit for incorporating water and dust resistance with IP68 and IP69K ratings. According to the company, the phone can be submerged up to two meters deep and withstand this for a full day.
  • The phone has somewhat large dimensions, with a thickness of 8.7 mm and a weight of 210 grams, making it feel heavy in hand.

Display

Moving to the display, Redmi hasn’t changed any specifications; it retained the 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The only change was an increase in the maximum brightness to 3000 nits, aimed at improving the viewing experience in outdoor settings and with HDR content.

Sticking with the same screen is not a negative, especially since what the Note 13 Pro Plus offered previously was the benchmark for mid-range phones. In any case, you’ll get an excellent viewing experience with realistic colors, sharp details, and depth in dark shades. Xiaomi has enhanced the screen's protection layer with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, making it more durable and resistant to scratches and breakage.

Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. Key Features and Design Overview

The phone comes out of the box with Xiaomi's custom HyperOS, based on Android 14. For hardware, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor with eight cores and a 2.5 GHz frequency, built on a 4nm architecture, is used, accompanied by an Adreno 710 GPU. In terms of performance, the phone ensures smooth operation and speed for medium tasks.

It will be available in two RAM options, both using LPDDR5 technology: one with 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB, and a higher-end option with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

The camera unit consists of three lenses. This time, the main lens is 50 MP, instead of the 200 MP found in the previous generation. However, it comes with a larger pixel size, reaching a width of several micrometers, and a wide aperture of f/1.6, delivering brighter results in low-light conditions.

The second lens is the newest addition. Redmi has replaced the macro lens with a 50 MP telephoto lens featuring a 60 mm focal length and an f/2.0 aperture. Thanks to smart software processing and the processor's support, it offers up to 2.5x optical zoom and up to 5x zoom without losing the original image quality.

  • The ultra-wide lens remains at 8 MP with an f/2.2 aperture.
  • The main camera can record 4K videos at up to 30 frames per second and can also capture slow-motion videos at 120 frames per second in Full HD resolution.
  • On the front, the selfie camera has been upgraded to 20 MP.
  • Xiaomi has equipped the phone with a new silicon-carbon anode battery with a massive 6,200mAh capacity and fast charging support of 90W. Unfortunately, the charger will not be included in the box.
  • The phone is currently available in China in blue, white, and black. It is expected to arrive in the Middle East by early 2025, with a slightly higher price tag.

Redmi Note 14 Pro. A Perfect Blend of Sleek Design and Powerful Performance

The Redmi Note 14 Pro features a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front panel but lacks rear protection. However, it comes with water and dust resistance rated at IP68. The design and feel of the back vary depending on the color choice. For example, the purple variant features a faux leather texture, while the other colors have a smoother finish. The display on this device is the same as that of the Pro Plus model.

Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor, which is suitable for mid-range tasks. The device offers two RAM options, 8GB or 12GB, with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB.

  • On the rear, the main camera is a 50MP sensor with an f/1.5 aperture, similar to the Pro Plus version but with a slightly smaller pixel size of 0.8 micrometers.

  • The secondary ultra-wide lens is 8MP with an f/2.2 aperture and no telephoto lens. Instead, a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture is included.

  • The front camera is a 20MP selfie shooter. The battery has a 5,500mAh capacity and supports 45W fast charging.

In conclusion, the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro Plus continue Xiaomi’s tradition of delivering mid-range smartphones with features that rival flagship devices. With sleek designs, powerful performance, and versatile cameras, these devices offer exceptional value for users seeking a balance between affordability and cutting-edge technology. Whether you choose the Pro model for its practicality or the Pro Plus for its enhanced capabilities, both options deliver a premium experience worth exploring.
